Training and Experience
I qualified in the advanced diploma in integrative counselling at the Iron Mill Institute, Exeter. A prestigious teaching establishment for Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Supervisors and Life Coaches. I trained at a busy medical centre in Plymouth gaining a valuable across the board experience of clients presenting issues. I was later invited to join a private agency to work as a Personal and Relationship Counsellor. I studied further approaches in counselling including 2 years of part time group work in Transactional Analysis and a foundation course in Systemic family therapy. I decided to specialise in relationship counselling but continue to see individuals.
I worked voluntarily for the homeless through the Salvation Army counselling men with drug and alcohol addiction, I now support clients post rehabilitation. I continue to attend seminars, forums and collaborative training days. I attend regular supervision and work within the ethical guidelines of my professional body, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
